Blood boiling moment

Jayden has this bad habit of running around like a wild monkey out of its cage these days. In the malls or any public places for that matter.

This evening as usual he ran and ran ahead of us without looking back, which means we have to chase him right? And if he sees us chasing him, he'll run even faster... Tell u... James and I got damn frustrated and angry cos we told him many many times not to do it!!!

'cannot run around like that! What if someone catches u? What if mummy and daddy can't find u? You'll have to sleep in the mall alone! You cannot go home with us and you'll cry all by yourself!'

With all these scolding and lecturing, it can only last for a while before he RUNS again... Sigh anyone experiencing the same thing?

Anyway, so this evening scolded from the mall, all the way to the car park and inside the car still lecturing him, guessed what he replied to daddy very calmly?

'daddy don't shout, people sleeping already'

U tell me PEK CHEK or not???? *blood boils*

7 friends spoke up!:

why not pretend to hide somewhere when he's running. if he can't see any of you, he'll be scared. or, tell him that you are going to leave the mall and go home if he continues to do it. no more shopping :)

Chloe used to do this too. She just loved wandering off by herself until one (not so) fine day, she got lost. We went through hell for 5 minutes searching for her and found her bawling while holding the hand of a security guard. Chloe learned her lesson the hard way. Hope Jayden won't need to :)

mine used to do so, i just let them run and stay walking and stand still, wait till they look back and i walk to the opposite direction. once they reach me, i'll scold them and tell them that i won't search for you if you are lost. I'll just leave you. I also lecturing them when the movie shows how the kids get lost, i'll take the opportunity to tell them not to do so.

I have the same problems with Angel too!!! And to make the sitaution worst, she is not afraid of getting lost and tell us she can find the way home 'all by herself'! Tried the hide and let her cry thingy and not working on her at all! Sigh .... I do hope that Jayden will listen to mummy soon. Keep your cool :)
